1. New Smuttynose brewery almost done. Portsmouth-based Smuttynose Brewing Co. still hasn't announced an official opening date for its new brewery and brew pub at Towle Farm in Hampton, but they're making progress.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon, the brewery noted that some landscaping has now been done, and a few early pieces are starting to arrive. The earliest that brewing is expected to start at the new location is November, and the brew pub isn't expected to open until early 2014.
The brewery will hold a keg social at 4 p.m. Friday at the Towle Farm site for anyone wishing to see the property for themselves.
