New Way to Buy Electricity in Exeter?

Exeter voters can cast a vote for a clean energy future on the March 8 ballot.

Adoption of Warrant Article #32 will allow Exeter to purchase electricity on behalf of its residents and businesses with the goal of lowering costs and expanding access to renewable sources and energy innovations.

Unitil, our current supplier, would continue to distribute Exeter’s electricity, maintaining infrastructure, handling billing and customer service. Simply put, supporting Community Power will help hasten a clean energy future, while maintaining competitive electric rates.

There is no tax impact, and no extra work for town employees and participants in the program can opt out at any time to return to Unitil’s default service. This warrant article was unanimously approved by the Exeter Select Board.
