Newmarket Comes Alive with the Walking Dead at their Annual Halloween Haunt

Newmarket, NH - The Newmarket Annual Halloween Haunt, organized and produced by Newmarket Recreation, and sponsored by the Newmarket Business Association, TD Bank, in additions to many other down town businesses, will be held at Schanda Park on the waterfront in down town Newmarket on Saturday, October 26th. The event will include Festive Family Fun games and activities from 3:30-5:30pm, including our New Zombie Laser Tazer Game, Spooky Swampland Challenge, Dracula’s Castle Bouncy House, Walking Dead Creepy Cupcake Walk, Our Toddler Terror Area, Trick or Treating at down town businesses, plus a whole lot more freaky fun and games, raffles, and prizes. 

All are encouraged to come in costume and enter our Annual Costume Contest.  Categories are Baby, Toddler, Preschool, K- 1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-6th, Teen, Adult, and Family Theme.  Winners will be announced from 5:00pm – 5:30pm during our Costume Showcase and about the same time our Devilish Dance Performances with SimplyCity break dancing Dance Crew and Sisters-in-Step from U.N.H. Both events will take place just before we start the Glowing Goblin Parade through the downtown area from 5:30-6:00pm.

Newmarket Recreation is also encouraging kids, teens and adults, to bring and PREe-carved Jack O Lantern and enter our first annual Great Pumpkin Jack O Lantern carving contest.  During the day we will also be holding a FREE Carve Pumpkin Contest where participants 14+ will have 2 hours to carve a pumpkin to enter the contest.  All rules and details for both Great Pumpkin Jack O Lantern Contests can be found online at www.newmarketrec.org

Judging and viewing of the Jack-O’-Lantern Spooktacula will take immediately after the parade from 6:00pm – 9:00pm along the water front at Schanda Park where the whole area will be a glow with floating Jacks O Lanterns and Glow in the Dark Decorations.
