Newmarket Lies Demand More Resignations

Shame Brought Upon Newmarket By Their Own Public Officials

The recent resignations of Newmarket School Board member Al Zink and School District Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools Penney Botterman, are a step in the right direction, however, more resignations are needed.

Barbara Loughman, Newmarket’s School District Attorney, informed investigators that it was Al Zink who informed her that the superintendent search committee of 2015, never met. This, of course, was a lie by Zink, employed to cover up the fact that this committee had met but never posted its meetings or kept any minutes.

Loughman also informed investigators that it was Botterman who informed her that the nonpublic meeting minutes of the 2015 Superintendent Screening Committee were sealed. This, of course, was a lie by Botterman, employed to coverup the fact that no minutes were kept at all.

Zink and Botterman however, should not shoulder the blame alone. Members of the Newmarket School Board and Superintendent Screening and Search Committee’s, both past and present, as well as Superintendents Givens, Nadeau, and Martin are all fully aware that the Search Committee did meet and that the minutes of the Screening Committee were not sealed. Yet each and every one of these individuals has remained silent.

Make no mistake: Mike Kenison, Kim Shelton, Val McKinney, and Supt Givens are all aware of the lies which have been presented to the courts and prosecutors office by attorney Loughman, on behalf of the School District, and they have allowed the lies to move forward through the courts without correction.

In allowing these lies to move forward, Givens and the board have not only shamed themselves, but they also continue to shame the entire town.

There are, of course, legal problems awaiting all of these individuals for allowing Loughman to present all of the lies to the courts and investigators. As one of the victims of these lies (every Newmarket resident is also), I hope justice will prevail and each of these people will face legal consequences in our courts.

Today, Loughman continues to pocket huge sums of Newmarket taxpayer dollars representing the district as the case is now at the NH Supreme Court. This, despite the fact that there is no record of Loughman ever consulting with the Newmarket School Board regarding the case, or to verify whether or not the statements she received from Zink and Botterman were true or not. This is easy to understand: the School Board wanted to escape culpability.

More to follow,
