Newmarket School District RTK and Election Law Updates

Law violated again, lies told, and no Election Law Violation

Newmarket School District Attorney Barbara Loughman recently responded to a Right to Know request for the meeting minutes of the Newmarket School District Communications Committee by informing me that the committee is not an official committee under the Right to Know and that the committee has never met. Both statements by Loughman are untrue.

I will soon be filing a new petition with the court claiming Newmarket School District has been violating the Right to Know which will include the above mention violation as well as several others.

Regarding the election law complaint I had filed against the NMNSD, I was informed by the state that two Newmarket residents (un-named), who were not members of the communications committee and were not school board members had established this Facebook page “Newmarket Education Advocates.” Consequently, there was no election law violation.

While I will not pursue the election law complaint further, I find it difficult to believe that this Facebook page, which advocated the passing of the school budget and warrant articles, happened without the influence of and at the direction of Supt. Givens. Consequently, I will not apologize to Givens or the Communications Committee for having claimed they were responsible for its publication, or for my having filed the election law complaint.
