Newmarket School Board Violates Right-to-Know Again

Newmarket School Board Violates Right-to-Know Again.

On April 30, 2020, the Newmarket School Board went into nonpublic session to discuss a settlement I proposed to settle defamation and other issues between the district and myself.

A day or two after this nonpublic meeting, Newmarket’s lying and most reprehensible attorney Barbara Loughman, informed that the School Board declined my offer.

This declination is perfectly fine. I have no problem moving forward with my legal case against the school district. What I have a problem with is the fact that the school board has chosen to hide my settlement offer and their vote declining the offer from the Newmarket Community.

Regardless, about a week ago I requested to inspect April 30, 2020, nonpublic meeting minutes of the School Board. These minutes only state the board discussed a legal issue. There is nothing to reveal what the legal issue and there is no record of any vote having taken place. This is a big problem.

Right to Know Law requires Minutes of nonpublic sessions “shall record all actions in such a manner that the vote of each member is ascertained and recorded.” This did not happen. In fact, it appears a crime may have been committed by the School Board.

RSA 641:7 makes it a crime for anyone who “purposely and unlawfully destroys, conceals, removes or otherwise impairs the verity or availability of any such thing.

I have been telling Newmarket that Mike Kenison and other members of the board cannot be trusted. Here again, is more proof.
