Newmarket School District Resignation Confirmed
Did Lies and Coverup Lead to Botterman's Resignation? It Appears So.
On February 18, 2020, I published an article titled “Newmarket School District Lies Have Huge Price Tag (see link below). Two days later, on February 20, 2020, Newmarket’s Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Penney Botterman, submitted her resignation to the district, effective March 20, 2020.
In my article, I revealed how that on January 27, 2020, Newmarket School District Attorney Barbara Loughman was interviewed by Rockingham County Prosecutor Officials concerning criminal allegations I had filed against her.
In my criminal complaint, among other things, I alledged that Attorney Loughman had committed perjury when she informed the courts that the minutes of the 2015 superintendent screening committee meetings were sealed (they were not).

I also revealed in my article how Loughman informed Rockingham officials that it was Botterman who had informed her the nonpublic meeting minutes of the 2015 superintendent screening committee were sealed.
Although Botterman’s resignation fails to cite any reason for her resignation, her resignation appears to be directly tied to Attorney Loughman’s statement to investigator's that it was Botterman who had informed Loughman that the 2015 Superintendent Search Committee non-public meeting minutes were sealed.

Given all of the above, I can only conclude that Botterman resigned because she in fact did lie to Loughman, or, that she resigned because she was named by Loughman and became the scapegoat for the district.
The reality of all of this is Newmarket taxpayers continue to pay legal fees for lies told to the courts by your school district representatives.
For those keeping track, Lying AL Zink and Lying Penney Botterman have now both been called out for their unethical and improper behavior and both have now resigned. All the better for Newmarket.
Givens, McKinney, Kenison, Loughman, and Shelton must all go the way of Zink and Botterman. Newmarket deserves better.
