Newmarket Town Manager Violates Oath of Office

Newmarket Town Manager Steve Fournier has violated his oath of office by failing to report crimes committed by Newmarket School District officials. These failures by Fournier disqualify him from serving in public office.

Fournier’s failures have cost Newmarket taxpayers greatly in unnecessary legal fees paid to School District Attorney Barbara Loughman. Loughman was paid by the school district to lie to NH Courts to cover up violations of the Right-to-Know Law and Fournier knew it but said nothing.

Perjury, fraud, obstruction of justice, extortion, false swearing, and falsification of public documents by Newmarket School District Officials have all taken place with Fournier remaining silent.

There were other Newmarket officials who remained silent when they should have spoken the truth. Craig Dionne, Clay Mitchell, Arlon Chaffee, Kim Shelton, and many others have disgraced and dishonored themselves and Newmarket with their silence.

The Newmarket Police Department, likewise, has disgraced itself and violated its own ethical standards by tanking criminal complaints against school district officials. Shame on Chief Jordan and Detective Wedgeworth.

Steve Fournier was recently provided with evidence the school district falsified public documents concerning him. The district ascribed motions and votes of nonpublic meeting minutes to Fournier which were untrue and written to cover up crimes committed by the school district. In violation of his oath of office, and despite requests from me that he does the right thing, Fournier chose the low road and did not report these crimes.

The state of public affairs in Newmarket is deplorable. There is no honor; no integrity; only fraud and corruption. Steve Fournier has knowingly and willingly violated his oath of office to protect his friends and colleagues. In doing so, Fournier has shown he is unworthy of public service.
