Newmarket Votes Tonight

Newmarket residents recently voted in two new members of the School Board: Gary Swanson and Amy Tilton. The first official act of these two new board members will be the vote to appoint school board officers. How these two new board members vote for these school board leadership positions will inform Newmarket residents if Swanson and Tilton will be part of the solution or part of the problem.

Current School Board members Kenison, Shelton, nor Mckinley deserves to be appointed to any leadership position. They should not seek or accept any such position and must refuse if nominated. In fact, they do not deserve to represent the people of Newmarket in any compacity. There unethical, illegal and immoral actions as board members have permanently disqualified them from holding public office.

Despite having just been elected, either Tilton or Swanson must serve as chairman of the school board, and the first official action the new chairperson must take up is a vote for an independent investigation concerning the shenanigans concerning the removal of Chris Mazzone and his appointment to a position which previously did not exist.

Second, the board must seek an independent investigation into the actions of Al Zink, Penney Botterman, and Barbara Loughman concerning the many lawsuits, including the one now at the NH Supreme Court, in which these individuals repeatedly lied to the courts, and for which there are no school board votes authorizing these lawsuits which have cost Newmarket taxpayers well in excess of 100K.

Kenison, Shelton, and Mckinney must be removed from the Newmarket School Board and be held legally accountable for their actions. The question now is will Swanson and Tilton honor their oaths of office and do what’s right for the people of Newmarket, or will they join the unethical and contemptible? We won’t have long to wait to find out.
