Newmarket's School Superintendent Lies Cost Taxpayers

Susan Givens Must Be Held Accountable!

Newmarket’s Superintendent of Schools Susan Givens appointment to lead the Newmarket school district is without a doubt the single biggest mistake ever made by any Newmarket School Board.

Givens’s incompetence and unabashed willingness to openly lie to the Newmarket community have cost Newmarket taxpayers a small fortune, all the while lining the pockets of school district attorney Barbara Loughman.

In addition to filing criminal allegations against Given’s regarding what transpired regarding former Newmarket Jr./Sr. High School Principal Chris Mazzone, I have also filed a complaint against Givens with the NH Department of education alleging she violated laws and rules concerning Mazzone’s removal.

Interestingly, after my having filed my allegations against her, Givens now claims Mr. Mazzone was not fired from his principalship and he was not re-hired as facilities director. She now claims Mr. Mazzone was only transferred.

The proposition that Mr. Mazzone was not fired but simply transferred, beyond being an out and out lie, seems to have created more problems for the school district. If Mazzone was simply transferred, according to the law, his contract with the school district would have automatically been renewed when the district failed to notify him by April 15, 2020. Additionally, Mr. Mazzone would have had to have been offered a hearing on the matter. None of this seems to have happened. Perhaps Mr. Mazzone has a new legal claim against the district?

Of course, Given’s costly lies are not limited to what transpired with Mr. Mazzone. I will very shortly be taking Givens and the school board back to Court concerning several violations of Right-to-Know laws concerning the removal of Mr. Mazzone and the 2015 superintendent search process. You see, lies beget more lies which beget more lawsuits.
