Newton Woman Dies in Brentwood Crash

NHSP: Jennifer Markee succumbed to injuries she received after a vehicle that was rear-ended was pushed into her vehicle on Route 125.

BRENTWOOD, NH - A local woman lost her life yesterday afternoon after a multi-vehicle accident on Rout 125 in Brentwood, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Jennifer Markee, 40, received life threatening injuries at the accident scene and succumbed to those injuries after being medflighted by DHART to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, on June 3, 2016.

According to NHSP, at just after 4:30 p.m., Markee was driving north in a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer on Route 125 when she approached the area of Top Dog Toy Trucks and A Place to Grow. At the same time, a Brentwood man driving a 2004 Ford F-350 was traveling south and had stopped to make a legal left hand turn. Another vehicle – a 2006 GMC Sierra 3500, being driven by a Loudon man – was also traveling south and reportedly rear-ended the F-350. This action, according to NHSP, pushed the F-350 into the northbound travel lane where it collided with Blazer.

The Loudon man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Exeter Hospital for treatment; the Brentwood man was not injured.

Two children that Markee had in the truck with her were injured and transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, according to police.

Assisting at the scene were police officers from Brentwood, Kingston, and Freemont, as well as Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department employees and state police. Fire and rescue teams from Brentwood, Kingston, and Epping, also all assisted.
