NH AG: Here's How to Report Political Phone Call Violations

Pre-recorded political messages to numbers registered with the National Do Not Call List are against the law in New Hampshire.

CONCORD, NH - Stephen LaBonte, an assistant Attorney General with the state of New Hampshire, is reminding candidates that it is illegal to make prerecorded calls to a telephone number on the National Do Not Call List.

Candidates who do hire robocall firms to make calls that then call numbers on the list will be in violation of NH RSA 664:14-a, which states that “no person shall deliver or knowingly cause to be delivered a prerecorded political message to any telephone number or any federal do not call list.”

LaBonte stated in a press release that any voter that receives a call to phone number that is on the list and would like to file a complaint, may contact the NH AG’s Office at 888-868-3703 or email electionlaw@doj.nh.gov.
