
1. Gas tax hike? A proposal to raise the gas tax could return in the 2014 legislative session, according to the Union Leader. A measure that would have increased the gas tax by 12 cents passed the House earlier this year, but was then overwhelmingly rejected by the Senate. The Union Leader's Garry Rayno reports that discussions are already underway to bring forth a proposal to hike the gas tax by 5 cents to help fund needed highway and bridge improvements.
