MILTON, NH — A two-vehicle crash on Route 16 this morning in Milton has taken the life of a Barrington man, according to New Hampshire State Police. Michael Jones, 42, of Barrington, was driving a GMC Yukon northbound when it reportedly drifted left, crossed the center line, and collided with a Nissan Titan, being driven by a Sanbornville man, at around 4:15 a.m. on March 29, 2017.

“As a result of this crash, Jones sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” according to Capt. Christopher Vetter of the NHSP. “(The second driver) sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Portsmouth Hospital.”

Vetter noted that due to the crash scene's size and significance, the highway was closed in both directions for more than three hours. Assisting troopers were members of the Milton Police Department, Milton Fire Department, state of New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and the state of New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
