NHSP Investigating Fatal Crash on Route 101

A witness stated that the vehicle was traveling west, drifted right, and then went airborne, according to state police.

CANDIA, NH - New Hampshire State Police investigators are currently eyeing a vehicle crash that took the life of the driver of the vehicle earlier today.

Troopers as well as Candia Police, Fire and Rescue, and New Hampshire Department of Transportation workers were called to the westbound side of the highway near Exit 3 in Candia for a crash at around 8:30 a.m. on April 3, 2016.

“A witness reported the vehicle involved was traveling westbound when suddenly it drove to the right leaving the roadway, resulting in the vehicle going airborne coming to final rest on its roof in a wooded area,” according to Sgt. Steven Cooper of Troop A. “The causation of the crash is still under investigation.”

The driver was confirmed to have passed away due to the crash. The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family members, according to Cooper. There were also no passengers in the vehicle.

The right travel lane and breakdown lane were closed for about two hours during the investigation and cleanup, according to the state police and NH DOT.
