NMYO Clarinetist Accepted into National Orchestra

The Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras (NMYO) are pleased to announce the acceptance of clarinetist Hope Aubrey into the ASTA National High School Honors Orchestra (NHSHO). Hope completed a nationwide audition for the NHSHO and was accepted as one of two clarinetists to participate. The NHSHO will perform Symphony No. 5 in D minor by Dmitri Shostakovich at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts in Louisville, KY. The orchestra is comprised of musicians from all over the country and is part of the American String Teachers Association’s (ASTA) National Conference in March 2014.

“It was evident from her first audition with NMYO that Hope was a special musician,” states Gerald Dolan, Music Director for NMYO. “Hope has led the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble in her two years with NMYO by providing outstanding musicianship combined with quiet yet determined leadership and humility.”

“I am really looking forward to meeting and playing with so many talented musicians,” says clarinetist Hope Aubrey. “I know the experience will help me grow as a musician.”
