Voters Thursday made no changes to the $52.7 million budget for the Exeter-area school district.
The budget was the subject of a deliberative session at Exeter High School.
During the session, voters from the six towns that make up the school district (Exeter, Newfields, Stratham, Brentwood, Kensington, and East Kingston) had the chance to amend budget figures. No one in the crowd of about 30 people offered an amendment.

The budget represents a 4.6 percent increase over the current budget. School officials attributed the increase to rising costs for employee retirements, union agreements, and special education.

The budget will now be subject to an up-or-down vote in the March elections. If the budget is voted down, a higher, $53 million default budget will kick in.
