OBITUARY: Cody Tyler Brackett

The teen was a sophomore at Exeter High School.

Cody Tyler Brackett, 16, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at his home.

He was born July 3, 1996 in Exeter, NH, son of Joseph T. Brackett and Angela (Hale) Ritson.

Cody was currently in his sophomore year at Exeter High School, and was a member of the Exeter High School Bluehawks Football Team. Cody was active in youth sports always playing baseball, positioned mainly as catcher, through the Exeter Junior Baseball League and from fifth grade on playing football with the Exeter Seahawks, where he excelled as a defensive linebacker, offensive tight end, and with special teams.

He was an avid outdoorsman, spending first through eighth grade summers at Camp Lincoln in Kingston, hunting and fishing with his grandfather, and skiing with his grandmother.

Cody was always known for his great smile and readiness to give one of his legendary bear hugs.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Joe and Stephanie Brackett, mother and step-father, Angela and Pete Ritson, adored by brothers and sisters, Kaden Brackett, Kallie Brackett, Krista Ritson and Amanda Ritson, paternal grandparents, Steve Brackett, Sally Coles, Michael Minnon, and Patricia Batchelder, maternal grandparents, Linda and Brian Batchelder and Harriet Ritson, an aunt and her family, Lisa Roy and her husband Shawn and children Boeden and Brady, an aunt and her family, Kristy Formisano and daughter, Bryanna, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH.

Private funeral services will be held for the family.

Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Camp Lincoln, PO Box 729, Kingston, NH 03848.
