OBITUARY: Jim Tucker, 85, Local Doctor

The following is an obituary from Brewitt Funeral Home:

James C. Tucker, MD, of Exeter died on August 31, 2012 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Mass. following an accidental fall at his home.

He was born July 24, 1927 in Opelika, Alabama, the only child of Arthur and Mary (Pitts) Tucker. He was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, Princeton University and Harvard Medical School.

He served the community as a physician in Exeter for 41 years and retired in 1998.

Surviving are his wife, Janet (Brown), also of Exeter, and five children: Bob Tucker of Durham, NH, Dave Tucker of Kittery, ME, Richard Tucker of Amherst, NH, Sarah Ayers of East Kingston, NH, and Sam Tucker of Cape Elizabeth, ME. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Arthur Dodge Tucker, William Welles "Jack" Tucker, Jeffrey James Ayers, Finley Brooks Tucker and Reese Madolena Tucker.
