Marjorie A. Alston of Hampton Falls died August 30, 2012 at Exeter on Hampton in Exeter after a long period of illness, it is hard to capture the essence of so unique a person but all of her family and friends agree that she will be sorely missed.
She was born In Haverhill, MA August 27, 1924 the daughter of the late Newll and Jessie (Read) Brainerd.

She was a graduate of Haverhill High School in 1942 and the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps and was stationed at the Amy Hospital at Camp Edwards.
Marjorie and her husband, Donald together established The Hayloft in Hampton Falls, a retail clothing store which they operated from 1960-1987, when their children took over the family business.

Mrs. Alston was predeceased by her husband, Donald Alton who died in 1995.
Family members include her daughters, Nancy Skoglund and Jane Solar, her son, John Alston and their spouses. Her grandchildren, Chris Skoglund, Elizabeth Skoglund Powell, Matt Solar, Josh Solar and Thomas Alston and seven great grandchildren.
