Optima Bank Joins YMCA Community Investor League
The $5 million campaign for the Southern District YMCA is at nearly 70 percent of its goal.

As the region anticipates the opening of the new YMCA facility in Exeter, Optima Bank & Trust has joined other local businesses in making a financial commitment to the community, according to a press statement.
On June 12, Dan Morrison, president and CEO of Optima Bank & Trust presented Southern District YMCA with $10,000 in support of the Exeter Area YMCA currently under construction.
“We are proud to support such an important community development project,” said Morrison. “Our sponsorship along with the support from other businesses will enable the Y to be a sustainable organization and will provide health and wellness programs for children and families throughout the region.”

Optima Bank & Trust has committed the $10,000 gift over five years, which Morrison said also shows the Bank’s commitment to the state and the region.
“For all of the community, I thank Optima Bank for this five-year commitment,” said Rob McGregor, executive director of Southern District YMCA. “This investment demonstrates Optima Bank’s ongoing commitment to the health of the Exeter Area community.”

This donation secures Optima Bank & Trust in the Y’s Community Investors League, with the special distinction of a Founders Circle member. Optima joins eleven businesses already in the Circle, having each committed at least $10,000 by July 1.
Members of the Founders Circle, to date, include Arjay Ace Hardware, Bob Benoit Consultant to Banks, Compass Retirement Consulting Group, Donahue, Tucker & Ciandella, PLLC, Exeter Health Resources, Gary Blake MotoCars, Good Karma Café, Law Office of Daniel W. Jones, Esq., Nancy Phillips Associates, Inc., Northland Forest Products, Inc. and Robinson Smith Wealth Advisors.
The gift was presented on the site of the new Exeter Area YMCA at 56 Linden St. in Exeter. The 33,000 square foot facility is scheduled to open on September 1, 2015 and will provide programs and services to all ages throughout the region.
A full gymnasium, indoor track, cardio/weight room and 3 group fitness studios will be complemented by a teen center, on-site babysitting, community room and locker rooms. Membership will open online on August 1. The invitation to become a Founding Member is open now at sdymca.org.
The $5M capital campaign is currently at 69% of its goal. There is still a need for donations to support the completion of the project. Individuals and businesses interested in becoming part of the Community Investors League or any part of the permanent recognition wall in the YMCA are encouraged to contact Rhonda Bernstein, Capital Campaign Director, at Rhonda@sdymca.org or 603-642-3361 ext. 102.
