A group is collecting signatures calling for limited parking on Lincoln Street.
The petition is at the Trackside Cafe next to the Downeaster commuter rail stop. Commuters who can't find a space in the train lot often park in front of businesses on Lincoln Street all day.
The petition would create a two-hour limit on all Lincoln Street parking spaces. If 30 signatures are collected, it would qualify for the March town meeting ballot, at which point voters would decide if the limit should be enacted.
