PHOTO: New Stratham Meat House Location

The Meat House, which recently closed its counter inside Exeter's , is preparing to move into the old Blockbuster location in Stratham.

The photo above is of the still-empty old Blockbuster store on Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham. The Meat House location there is expected to be up and running later this month. It's located next to a Rite Aid.

It's the latest expansion for the Meat House, which opened its first store in Portsmouth in 2003. It now operates about 30 locations in ten states and has plans to open four new stores, according to its website.

In addition to meat, the Stratham store will offer fish, cheese, prepared foods, and bakery foods, among other items. It will feature more than 100 vendors – about half of which are tied to New England.

The company currently has five New Hampshire locations and two in Maine.
