The annual Deerfield Fair pumpkin weigh-off was held Thursday night, and the gourd grown by Boscawen's Steven Geddes won with a weight of 1,843.5 pounds – which organizers said is a world record.

The previous pumpkin weight record was set last year by a couple from Canada whose gourd weighed in at 1,818.5 pounds.
