Police dog receives a ballistic vest for better protection!

One of Portsmouth’s K9 police now has some extra protection, thanks to a donation from a local veterinarian.

On Wednesday, September 17th, during the Portsmouth Police Commission Meeting, K9 Steel received a bullet proof vest thanks to Dr. Jason McClellan, from Hampton Veterinary Hospital.

The bulletproof vests are custom made to ensure proper fit for each dog. Local law enforcement agencies rely on donations from the public to purchase dogs and equipment.
