State Police to Drivers: Don't Let Labor Day Weekend Turn Deadly
During the last big travel holiday this year, there were fatal crashes all over the state.
State police are urging drivers to be safe on the roads this Labor Day weekend.
There will be a huge surge in traffic all over New England. AAA-Northern New England said Labor Day weekend traffic will be about 5 percent higher than last year.
"Our troopers are committed to ensuring safe travel throughout the State and will continue our efforts to reduce collisions and deaths during this upcoming weekend," State Police Col. Robert Quinn said in a statement.
During the last big travel holiday—the Fourth of July—there were fatal crashes in Exeter, Windham, and Epsom.
"Saving lives on our roadways is a top priority and we need everyone’s help to do it," Quinn said. "Don't let this holiday weekend end in an arrest, or even worse, a tragic death.
"Don’t mix alcohol and drugs with driving, don’t drive distracted, and simply slow down."
