Man Accused of Thanksgiving Theft Caught Christmas Eve

Portsmouth police on Tuesday captured a local fugitive who they said was hiding in a closet at a Gosling Meadows residence.

Scott Sousa, 25, of 4 Heaton St., Rochester was wanted forstealing a purse at the Portsmouth Walmart back on Thanksgiving. He was also wanted for probation and parole warrants, including one out of Exeter.

U.S. Marshals helped in the capture.

Sousa is due in court Friday.
