'Pour-Over' Coffee Featured at New Exeter Java Joint
The precise method produces a more balanced cup of Joe.

D Squared Java, Exeter's new downtown coffee shop, is all about quality.
The java joint on Water Street uses expertly crafted beans from local vendors in its "pour-over" brewing method, which owner Dan Demers said produces a more balanced cup of Joe.
"Everything you get here is going to be delicious," said Demers, a former math teacher hoping to capitalize on consumers' thirst for high-quality coffee.

D Squared Java opened on Saturday in the spot of the former Copper Canoe gallery.
Demers says his shop's pour-over method sets it apart. Baristas make each cup to order by carefully heating water to a set temperature and filtering it through coffee grounds.

The beans come from Red Rover Coffee Roasting in Newmarket and New Harvest Coffee Roasters in Rhode Island.
The pour-over coffee costs about $3.25, making it a little more expensive than an average cup of Joe. But you get what you pay for.
"It's more fresh," Demers said.
His shop has free wireless Internet and a play area for children. Menu options include espresso and iced coffee. Bags of coffee and pastry items are also sold.
The shop is open Mon.-Sat. 7 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sun. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The shop's Facebook page can be found here.
D Squared Java is located at 155 Water St.
