ARTISAN STYLE BREADMAKING - Leigh Sloss
No kneading involved! Discover a simple method of making French or Italian style bread that’s chewy on the inside and crusty on the outside. Learn to make the dough, cloak it, and shape it into boules, baguettes or ciabatta. Each student will leave with a fresh loaf of bread and dough to make more at home. Bring a large glass, ceramic, or plastic bowl and a wooden spoon.

CHOUX PASTE - Christa Desjardins

TEA TASTING AND TRADITION, Sherry Brandsema - This class will examine the types of teas (green, black, white, flavored, and herbal) and how they are brewed along with a bit of history and some interesting uses. Learn new holiday and cold weather teas. Mondays, 2 weeks, beginning March 9, $45, 6:30-8:30 pm

UN COOKING THE RAW VEGAN STYLE WAY - Jazmin Davis
This class will teach you how to prepare a day of meals from fruits and vegetables with no cooking for a healthy day of eating while staying budget friendly and efficient. Tuesday, 1 night, April 7, $45, 6:00-9:00 pm

BEGINNING CROCHET– Alesia Dopson
Learn how to read directions, increase & decrease, work in rounds vs. rows, and all the different “types” of stitches. Students will make multiple pieces, including a hat, potholder, and more as time permits. Supplies provided. Additional yarns can be purchased. Please bring scissors and pencil. Tuesdays, 6 weeks, beginning March 10, $80, 6:30-8:30 pm

BEGINNING MELT & POUR SOAP MAKING - Channa Delaney
This hands on class is the perfect introduction to the world of soap crafting. Learn to create
artistic and novelty soap with high-quality melt and pour, using non-detergent soap base. Make at least 4 different types of soaps, customized with colors, fragrance and other additives such as herbs, to take home. Along with your soap creations you will receive helpful handouts with instructions, tips, and recipes to try at home. Monday, 1 night, March 16, $40, 6:00-9:00 pm

HANDCRAFTED LOTION - Channa Delaney
Learn to make luxurious lotion and cream from scratch. Learn about the necessary ingredients like emulsifiers, humectants, emollients as well as equipment and supplies to get started. A light-weight body lotion and a creamy moisturizer will be created. The two batches will be made in class and you will be able to add your choice of scent and color. Monday, 1 night, March 23, $40, 6:00-9:00 pm

INTRODUCTION TO BASIC DRAWING – Marcia Dolgin
This studio style class will focus on understanding line, shape, contour and other techniques using pencil, charcoal, and Conté Crayons on large size newsprint pads. The class will give students the opportunity to get into the nuts and bolts of basic drawing from real items as well as imaginative concepts. Each student will get individualized instruction to gain an appreciation for what they learn and accomplish. Thursday, 3 weeks, beginning May 7, $55, 6:30-9:00 pm

PAINTING WITH PASTELS –Lisa Mitchell St. Clair
This class will introduce the student to working with soft pastels, or developing skills in an experienced artist. Explore a different subject matter each week. Go to the website, adulted.sau16 or call the office for a list of required materials. Mondays, 6 weeks, beginning March 9, $90, 6:30-8:30 pm

SEWING – Wendy MacArthur Keith
Beginner will pick a project and learn the basics. Experienced sewers may decide on project to advance skills. Class meets at the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham. Wednesdays, beginning February 4, 6 weeks @ $55, 10 weeks @ $90, 7:00-9:00 pm

Pre-registration is required for all classes and space is limited. Complete registration information and other course selections are in the brochure which can be found at area businesses, the library, online at adulted.sau16.org or by calling the Exeter Adult Education office at 775-8457.
All courses are open to both Exeter residents and non-residents 18 years or older. A 20% discount will be given to any person age 65 or over. Discounts must be asked for at the time of registration. Computer classes may not be discounted. Refunds will not be given unless a course is cancelled.
