Restaurant Week Kicks Off Today

1. RESTAURANT WEEK STARTS TODAY. The 2nd annual Statewide Restaurant Week in New Hampshire kicks off today and runs through Friday, May 24. Restaurants from all over the state – including 11 on the Seacoast – will be offering special, 3-course menus for lunch and dinner.

2. ANOTHER NICE DAY. Today will be mostly sunny, with a high of 69.

3. BIKE TO WORK DAY: Today is the 11th annual Bike to Work Day celebration, and free commuter breakfasts will be held at locations around the Seacoast, including the Exeter bandstand and Timberland in Stratham. In addition, a group of cyclists will be riding the Tour de Breakfast, stopping at six commuter breakfasts. Watch for them at the bandstand around 7:45 a.m. and at Timberland around 8:10 a.m.

4. GOV. HASSAN TOURS EXETER BUSINESS: Gov. Maggie Hassan will tour Cobham Manufacturing in Exeter at 3 p.m. today, the latest stop in her "Innovate NH" tour.

5. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a unanimous decision in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, ruling that racial segregation in public educational facilities is unconstitutional.
