RiverRun Bookstore Leaving Portsmouth Location

RiverRun Bookstore will soon be leaving its location in downtown Portsmouth, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The newspaper reported owner Tom Holbrook e-mailed customers and said his store needs to find a cheaper location or new investors to continue operating.

"The rise of digital books, the poor economy, and some very large debts have left the store in a terrible position," Holbrook wrote in the e-mail, which was quoted in the Times. "We've hung on by our fingernails for the last two years hoping things would improve, but they haven't."
