RiverWoods Durham Phase 2 Apartments Reserved In 11 Days
The Durham senior living community said all 55 planned independent living homes were reserved in less than 2 weeks.
DURHAM, NH — RiverWoods Durham said all apartments in its planned Phase 2 expansion on Stone Quarry Drive were reserved after 11 days of reservation appointments.
Phase 2 will add 55 new independent living homes across two buildings. The project also includes a stand-alone community center with common spaces for residents, dining services, and social and recreational opportunities.
RiverWoods Durham said the expansion continues its mission of providing lifetime security, independence, and community. The announcement describes the project as including panoramic views, open floor plans, and gathering spaces, reflecting the planning approach used for the original campus.

The community said the quick pace of reservations shows continued demand among older adults for a lifestyle centered on neighborly connection. In response to that demand, RiverWoods has created a Priority Plus program for people who want to be considered for a Phase 2 apartment if one becomes available.
“To see all the RiverWoods Durham Phase 2 residences reserved in such a short time is really exciting,” RiverWoods CEO Justine Vogel said. “This kind of response does not happen by accident. It is a reflection of the trust people have in our team and in the model of community and care we have built here. People are planning ahead and looking for a place where they can feel comfortable and connected over time. That is exactly what we aim to provide at RiverWoods Durham.”

A future resident, Jack Lynes, also described what drew him to the community.
“The opportunity to live in the RiverWoods community inspires confidence,” Lynes said. “It will enable us to live our lives with integrity, dignity, and purpose to the very last second of our last breath. This is a precious gift.”
RiverWoods did not provide a construction timeline or opening date for the Phase 2 buildings in the announcement. The organization said people interested in joining the Priority Plus list can get more information at RiverWoodsNH.org/Durham or by calling 603-868-6000.
