RiverWoods Senior: Paying Us Back Is 'Moral' Thing for Unitil to Do [VIDEO]

The utility overcharged seniors at RiverWoods by nearly $2 million for electricity.

A RiverWoods resident who was one of hundreds of senior citizens overcharged by Unitil for electricity said the company should repay the money as soon as possible.

Yesterday, the Associated Press reported Unitil had overcharged people at the retirement community nearly $2 million in electricity since 2004. The company has repaid residents about a third of that, but appears to be dragging its feet on the rest by asking the state Public Utilities Commission for advice. RiverWoods is now suing Unitil to get back the rest of the money.

The problem began in 2004 from a fault meter, AP reported. Seniors have been credited some of the money on their bills.
