Route 27 Closing Soon Due to Repairs
An impending road project will block all non-local and non-emergency traffic on the busy road connecting Exeter to Hampton.

Exeter Road (Route 27) in Hampton will be reduced to one lane and closed to most traffic for two to three weeks beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6.
Traffic will be detoured onto Route 101 during the , which connects Exeter and Hampton.
Hampton Public Works Director Keith Noyes said the will assist in blocking off the Exeter Road while Pike Industries performs the resurfacing work. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will be permitted along Exeter Road, although Noyes said his department asks that people "avoid" Exeter Road if they can.

"We will close the entire road because there's so much going on with [the construction equipment]," said Noyes.
