The owners of 87 delinquent properties in Exeter owe about $1.4 million in back taxes and penalties, according to town officials.
The owners have until Oct. 31 to pay up. If they don't, their properties will be deeded to the town. The town could then resell the properties to recoup the owed money.
Notices were mailed to the delinquent owners in June. Selectman Chair Bobby Aldrich said some have approached the town about paying up, but he added the town could still end up with dozens of properties in its control.
