Tryouts To Be Held November 23rd
U-10 Champions League Winter Session Opens in January
PORTSMOUTH, NH, October 23, 2013 - Seacoast Sports Clubs (“SSC”), the parent company of four multi generational health and fitness facilities in the Seacoast, is currently recruiting players for its new U-10 tennis team that will participate in the U-10 Champions League. Tryouts for the team will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 2:00-3:00PM at SSC-Great Bay.
Match play will start on Friday January 10, 2014 and matches are held on Fridays from 4-5:30pm from January 10th through March 24th. The team is recruiting both singles and doubles players. Cost to participate in the league is $90 per player.
During the past year SSC-Great Bay has put an emphasis on growing the tennis instruction options for the U-10 player. To do this, SSC-Great Bay updated its tennis courts to be adaptive to the U-10 format for teaching younger players at three different levels of play using specially designed tennis balls on smaller scaled courts. Both of these adaptations are done so that the younger, smaller participant can play tennis on his/her level and not the level appropriate for an adult player.

SSC-Great Bay has moved into league play to compliment its youth clinic offerings and to allow a natural progression of play where the younger player can serve, return, keep score, and really understand the concept of playing tennis matches.
