Shop Local for Thanksgiving at Vernon Family Farm
Local Products and Option to Order Pastured Turkeys Available
NEWFIELDS__Vernon Family Farm invites people to shop local for Thanksgiving at their farm store where customers can find local products such as the option to order a fresh pastured turkey.
Vernon Family Farm has partnered with Hurd Farm in Hampton to offer fresh pasture raised turkeys this Thanksgiving. Pre-ordered turkeys can be picked up Nov. 23 through Nov. 25. The farm works to find the size turkey that best fits the needs customers describe on their order.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Hurd Farm again this year, our third year in a row,” co-owner Nicole Vernon said. “Our farmer Jeremiah and Steve Hurd have a great friendship and working together is always a pleasure. What can be better than fresh, pasture-raised Turkey for Thanksgiving?”

Turkeys are pasture-raised on green grass and sunshine on Hurd Farm’s 160 acres. They are never given antibiotics or hormones. These turkeys are slaughtered on farm and you’ll receive them fresh, never frozen. Each turkey will weigh approximately 15lbs and cost around $80 dollars in total. The weight of the turkey cannot be guaranteed, and customers are only charged for the weight of the turkey they receive.
Vernon Family Farm’s farm store is open year-round. In preparation for Thanksgiving meals, the farm has bolstered stocks of onions, garlic, pumpkins, numerous varieties of squash, potatoes, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, beets and carrots. They also sell cream, milk, cheeses, honey, maple syrup, spices and fermented food.

“Our store doesn’t close for the winter, so shopping for local food doesn’t have to stop with the start of winter,” Vernon said. “Not only do we have turkeys, but other holiday roasts like grass fed beef, pastured pork and bone in ham.”
Vernon Family Farm will also have an array of homemade pies, eggs, and apples for holiday meals.
