The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Exeter Community Assistance Center and Food Pantry has been chosen by Hannaford!

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been selected by Hannaford Supermarkets as the beneficiary of the “Every Cup Helps Make a Difference” reusable cup program. During the months of February and March, for every $3.99 reusable cup sold at the Exeter store, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will receive $1.

Visit the café area in the Exeter Hannaford and you will see the display holding the specially designed reusable cup. For even more incentive, Hannaford has included a coupon entitling the purchaser to a free cup of coffee and $.30 discount for each subsequent refill. There is so much opportunity here to support hunger relief in the greater Exeter area while helping eliminate paper cup usage.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Exeter Food Pantry is open five days a week, and also serves as a Community Assistance Center helping low income families get back on their feet during hard times. Clients frequently stop by the Center to look for new jobs, enroll in Medicaid, receive tax preparation and fuel assistance, and to receive dental hygiene or medical services.

In 2015, SVdP distributed 368,900 pounds of food with a retail value over $1,107,000, The organization saved 18 households from eviction, helped 91 families and individuals with crisis assistance, and aided 76 families and individuals with financial counseling and budget balancing. Additionally SVdP helped 42 homeless people with referrals to shelters, emergency supplies, and food, and provided 232 individuals with dental hygiene and care in the dental van.
