Special Patriotic Trees
Daughters of the American Revolution get creative this Christmas!

Holiday Greetings! The Exeter DAR has created a patriotic holiday-greens display in front of the Exeter Town Offices in the olde granite trough. On the tiny trees, each ornament bears the name of a soldier who fought in the Revolutionary War and is buried in the Winter Street Cemetery. If you are walking by, stop and take a peek.
Why this patriotic display now? The Exeter DAR is ramping up for the 250th birthday of the USA in 2026! In 1775, one year before the Declaration of Independence was sent to us on horseback, New England saw the skirmishes at Lexington (April) and Bunker Hill (June). So be on the lookout for interesting local commemorations in 2025, too.
Did you know that gunpowder stored in our small powderhouse on Swasey Parkway was sent to Bunker Hill? And that many Minutemen from Exeter fought at that famous hilltop battle?
