Speed And Alcohol Factors In Fatal Route 101 Crash: NHSP

Peter Johnson lost his life after his Audi Q5 crash on Route 101 yesterday afternoon.

EPPING, NH — New Hampshire State Police say speed and alcohol are factors as they investigate a fatal crash on Route 101 yesterday in Epping, according to a press statement. Peter Johnson, 50, of an unknown address, was killed after his 2015 Audi Q5 left the roadway and crashed into the Martin Road overpass, Lt. John Hennessy of Troop A noted this morning. State troopers were sent to the crash incident at just after 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2017, on the eastbound side of the highway.

Johnson was pronounced dead by a member of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner at the scene of the crash, Hennessy stated. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

“Speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors,” he noted. “However, all aspects of this crash are still under investigation.

Assisting the NHSP at the scene were the New Hampshire State Police C.A.R. Unit and the Epping Police and Fire Departments.
