George Washington Spied Here: Spies and Spying in the American Revolutionary War, (1775-83); Stratham Historical Society, Nov. 10 at 7:00pm

STRATHAM, NH....Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., the Stratham Historical Society and Stratham‘s Wiggin Memorial Library will jointly sponsor a program by the NH Humanities Council titled: “George Washington Spied Here: Spies and Spying in the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783), presented by Professor Douglas Wheeler, UNH. This program is an inquiry into the life and death of America’s first spy, the patriot-martyr, Nathan Hale, of Coventry, CT. Wheeler will take you on a journey through the spy world of the Culper Spy Ring of New York, Long Island and CT., the most secret of the American spy rings and the most successful in getting useful intelligence to General Washington. The Father of our country was also our first Intelligence Chief.
The program begins at 7:00 p.m. (SHS business meeting at 6:30 pm), is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, and light refreshments served. Stratham Fire Department, Morgera Community Room, which is located at 4 Winnicutt Road (corner of Portsmouth Avenue and Winnicutt Road). There is ample parking.
