The Stratham Historical Society, together with Stratham's Wiggin Memorial Library, will jointly sponsor a program by Robert Mannino, Jr., President of the U.S. Lightship Museum. The program, titled "U.S. Lightship Service", (Nantucket/LV-112), begins at 7:00 p.m., is FREE and open to the public. There is ample parking, refreshments will be served.

For 39 years, Nantucket Lightship/LV-112 guided ships through some of the most treacherous shipping lanes in the world. Light Vessels (LV) are floating lighthouses, manned ships operated by the U.S. Coast Guard in dangerous offshore waters where permanent lighthouses could not be built.
