When found, the person will to receive Stratham's Boston Post Cane.

The Stratham Historical Society is now looking for the oldest citizen of Stratham to receive Stratham’s Boston Post Cane.
Katherine M. Bullard held the cane since December 2012. Katherine died at the age of 97 in May.
On Aug. 2, 1909, Edwin A. Grozier, Editor and Publisher of The Boston Post, sent letters and canes to the Chairmen of the Boards of Selectmen of towns exceeding a population of 500 in most New England States. The letters stipulated that the canes were to be presented to the oldest citizen of the town, and, upon the demise of the holder, to be transmitted to the next oldest citizen.
