Stratham Historical Society's March 13 Program: '12,000 Years Ago in the Granite State'
Dr. Robert Goodby, Professor of Anthropology at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge presents a fascinating program Monday, March 13, 7:00pm

Stratham Historical Society and Wiggin Memorial Library will jointly sponsor a program by The N. H. Humanities Council titled, "12,000 Years Ago in the Granite State." The program will be presented on Monday, March 13th, 7:00 p.m., is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Presented by Dr. Robert Goodby, Professor of Anthropology at Franklin Pierce University, the program on the native Abenaki people, "discusses how the real depth of Native history was revealed when an archaeological study prior to construction on the new Keene Middle School discovered traces of four structures dating to the end of the Ice Age. Undisturbed for 12,000 years, the site revealed information about the economy, gender roles, and household organization of the Granite State's very first inhabitants."
The program will be held at the Stratham Fire Department, Morgera Community Room, which is located at 4 Winnicutt Road, (at the corner of Portsmouth Avenue and Winnicutt Road). A business meeting of The Stratham Historical Society will be held at 6:30 p.m. The presentation, scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., again is free and open tot he public.
