Superintendent to Discuss School Security

Superintendent Michael Morgan said no extra police presence was added in schools Friday, but he will be talking with principals this week to make sure the schools are safe.

Superintendent Michael Morgan said he plans to speak with school principals this week about tightening up school security in the wake of last week's school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

Morgan said there was no increased police presence in schools on Friday, but he did communicate with the school principals to make sure they were alerted to the situation.

"There was no extra police presence, but certainly an alertness to the whole thing," he said. "We'll probably have a follow up meeting Monday or Tuesday to go over some of the tragic situations that happened to make sure we are in good shape here."
