Town Officials Honor State Title Football Squad

The Exeter Blue Hawks last month won their second straight state championship.

Exeter town officials on Monday honored the state championship-winning Exeter High School football squad.

The team won its second straight Division 1 state title last month in a 31-21 win over Pinkerton Academy. Exeter also beat Pinkerton in 2011 for the state title.

"The 2012 Exeter Blue Hawks varsity football team and their coaches demonstrated the teamwork and drive necessary to produce a successful and winning season," the proclamation read.

Selectmen also presented a plaque to head coach Bill Ball's team honoring the achievement.
