Track the T-Storms Over Exeter

Powerful storms caused damage in the Seacoast Monday.

Powerful thunderstorms ripped through Exeter Monday afternoon, knocking out power to surrounding areas and causing some minor flooding.

The storms hit around 4 p.m.

Marble-sized hail was reported in some areas of the Seacoast. Power was knocked out to a section of Kittery, Maine near one of the entrances to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Outages were also were reported in Epping and Durham.

NECN meteorologist Matt Noyes said winds in Portsmouth exceeded 60 mph at about 4:30 p.m.

The storms could continue on and off through 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Heavy downpours could feature winds of up to 45 mph, NWS said.
