At around 11 a.m., state troopers took reports from concerned motorists about two vehicles that appeared to be road racing in the westbound lane of Route 101, according to a report. A trooper from the NHSP Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring commuter traffic in the area from the air and allegedly observed the vehicles – an Infiniti and a Subaru – traveling at extremely high rates of speed. According to Capt. Christopher Vetter of the NHSP, the vehicles were clocked at 102 mph in a 65 zone.
