Two-Vehicle Crash Closes Route 125 For Hours: NHSP

EXETER, NH — A local motorcyclist was medflighted to Boston Medical Center last night after a crash on Route 125 near Debra Road in Kingston, according to New Hampshire State Police. At around 9 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2017, troopers were sent to the area for a two-vehicle crash between a Chevrolet Cobalt being driving by a Kingston man and a Harley-Davidson being driven by another Kingston man, according to state police. The road was closed for several hours.

“(The) initial investigation appears to show that the Chevrolet Cobalt was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Debra Road and for reasons yet undetermined failed to observe the Harley Davidson motorcycle,” according to Trooper Bryan Plamondon of the NHSP. “The motorcycle subsequently struck the right front of the Chevrolet Cobalt thus ejecting the operator of the motorcycle.” (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Exeter NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

The motorcyclist sustained “serious and life-threatening injuries” and was transported to Boston. The driver of the Cobalt was not injured. The collision remains under investigation.

“It does not appear that impairment was a factor in the collision, however all aspects are still under investigation, including speed and/or distraction,” Plamondon noted. “As a result of the collision, Route 125 in the area of Debra Road was closed for several hours while the investigation took place.”

NHSP were assisted on scene by the Kingston Police Department and the Kingston Fire Department. The roadway was opened at around 12:30 a.m. this morning, according to the NH DOT.
