Underage NH Man Charged with DUI After Crash
NHSP: Brendan McKenna crashed into a utility pole this morning on Pudding Hill Road in Madbury and knocking out power for hours.
MADBURY, NH — A New Hampshire man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after a crash on Pudding Hill Road in Madbury this morning, according to state police. Brendan McKenna, 20, of Madbury, was arrested on May 14, 2017. At just before 5 a.m., New Hampshire State Police were sent to the road for a report of a rollover crash.

“Upon arrival, troopers encountered a single vehicle on its roof entangled in electrical wires and a snapped telephone poll hanging across the roadway,” according to Lt. John Hennessey of the NHSP. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling in a northwesterly direction, lost control and struck the telephone pole.”

The driver – McKenna – reportedly did not sustain serious injuries due to the crash. Due to the damaged pole, that area of Pudding Hill Road was shut down for over 5 hours, leaving area homes and businesses without power, Hennessey noted.
The New Hampshire State Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Madbury Fire Department and Eversource Utility Company. The vehicle was removed from the scene by Smitty’s Garage of Durham.
